About this property

Oakhill is a Scandinavian-style lodge built of brick and timber, tucked away behind mature trees in the bustling village of Heacham. Set just a mile away from the West Norfolk coastline and with a peaceful green setting, this charming cottage is ideal for families, friends and those with limited mobility. Step inside, or up the ramp into a charm-filled holiday home, featuring a combination of white painted walls and wooden panelling. The utility occupies washing and drying facilities for convenience, and next to this, the kitchen comes fully equipped ready for you to stock to the brim. Dine together around the table and tuck into a scrumptious meal, before cooling off in the lounge.

A plush set of sofas lie in the sitting room, and a woodburning stove is set in one corner, with its chimney reaching up into the master bedroom, keeping you toasty and warm in winter. The ground floor double bedroom offers beautiful views outside; whilst upstairs there is another seating area with a snug-style feel about it, again boasting views of the enveloping trees. The decked balcony, leading from the master double room, enjoys a spot for morning coffee with a read of the paper. To the exterior of the lodge is one-acre of private woodland just for you. Sit out on the patio and enjoy a refreshing glass of something chilled, whilst the kids have a game of badminton, even indulge in a delicious barbecue of an evening.

Listen to the trickling sounds of the fishpond, and watch pretty birds swooping down to see if they can catch something for lunch. This property is in a super location, close to the heart of the village of Heacham, only a few hundred yards from one of England's largest lavender farms, and no more than a mile from Hunstanton. This part of Norfolk is renowned for its abundance of birdlife throughout the year, with several local RSPB sites, and within easy driving distance is Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Gardens. Consider a stay at this delightful cottage hideaway.

My sentiment is that it could have been done on arrival and departure days 9am-3pm. We were only there 4 days so one day gardening feels like loss. Anyway not to take it away from the rest it was great otherwise. .

Our first evening was quite eventful we sat down to watch the TV which was a good size television only to notice a mouse running around the room after around 10 minutes I managed to let the mouse out through the patio doors. As far as the appliances ie : Oven, fridge, microwave they were very good the kitchen table was excellent size ,in the lounge the seats were very comfortable. Overall the property was fairly good my only other criticism is we should have been made aware there was building work next door to be fair to the builders they didn't start to early and finished at a reasonable time. I would book again because it is still a nice property and makes a excellent base to explore Norfolk.
